In the fall of 2019, frustrated with the inaction of politicians and inspired by Greta Thunberg, Naomi Klein, and student climate strikers, Jane Fonda decided that she would take to the streets and protest against climate change on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. On the 11th October, she launched Fire Drill Fridays (FDF), and has since led thousands of people in highly successful non-violent civil disobedience, which has several times led to her arrest.
