Beautiful botanical print from the Cristoph Jacob Trew collection

In each one of these prints is contained the delicacy, the elegance and the color of small masterpieces that Nature offers. The illustrations are taken from the precious collection Plantae selectae (1773), coordinated by the German physician and botanist Cristoph Jacob Trew and kept in the Bibliotheca Antiqua of Aboca Museum in Sansepolcro.

Plantae Selectae is one of the most beautiful herbaria of its time: important in its large scale, it reproduces plants and flowers, especially exotic ones, grown in the sumptuous gardens of London. The complex preparation of the magnificent tables, printed in decurie, took 23 years for the final publication (1750-1773). It is a work of great value and rarity.
