L'immagine che decora il pannetto è tratta dall'Hortus Amoenissimus che Franciscus de Geest (1638-1699) dipinse sul finire del Seicento. L'opera contiene oltre 200 illustrazioni di fiori e ancora oggi stupisce per la freschezza dei colori e la grazia del segno con cui ogni specie è ritratta. La riproduzione del manoscritto originale, custodito presso la Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Roma, è stata curata e pubblicata da Aboca Edizioni.

The illustration which decorates this cleaning cloth is from the Hortus Amoenissimus, painted at the end of the XVII scentury by Franciscus De Geest (1638-1699). With more than 200 flower illustrations, the florilegium is striking even today for the freshness of the colours and the graceful hand which portray each species. The reproduction of the original manuscript, currently kept at the Biblioteca Nazionale di Roma (National Central Library of Rome), was edited and published by Aboca Edizioni.
