Can you imagine the Flower Collection, inspired by the most beautiful flower collections ever produced, without a pencil brimming with colour? Of course not!
The history of botany and sharing its most rare and precious aspects has always been part of the Aboca project. Each pencil is decorated with an image selected from the herbal Hortus Amoenissimus, which Franciscus de Geest painted towards the end of the 17th century, and which contains over 200 illustrations of flowers. The reproduction of the original manuscript, stored in the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale of Rome, was edited and published by Aboca Edizioni.
