The two volumes examine 39 monographic entries with information on the best known medicinal plants and natural substances, from those most frequently used in popular medicine to those most commonly employed in scientific medicine.
Particular attention has been paid to ensuring the most recent clinical evidence in the phytotherapeutic field has been assembled, and that the bibliography that accompanies the Guide is as up-to-date as possible. Any possible developments such as interactions, toxicity or side-effects caused by the use of medicinal plants are included.
The two books provide an up-to-date, rational and easily consultable guide. They are indispensable to anyone wishing to deepen their knowledge of phytotherapy or acquire understanding in the safe and effective use of medicinal plants and food supplements. The subjects discussed are:
- traditional uses
- modern clinical evidence
